Aloha,

The Rem 700 was shooting very well as posted before, however, I found a really good deal on a Leupold Mk4, 16X scope... so I went for it...

I especially like the turret design on the Mk4 and the focus knob. They all match... I like that. The scope is of excellent brightness and very clear... now the SA 6-20x56mm that was on there was equally bright and clear to me. But I wanted the SA for my M1A's anyway... so this is how it ended up looking like...

I like the overall looks now and it is much more streamlined with the smaller objective. I want to really make this rifle special... It shoots well, not as good as other "custom" guns, but good enough for now... Maybe a better stock would make her look more spiffy!

That’s a great looking rifle Tom.

Is it just me though or does that barrel look a bit on the long side. I’ll bet you get some good velocity out of it.

Best regards, Chris

Gee Tom, that scope and ring set up looks familiar......Oh wait, I painted mine.

Nice pics!!!

The Leupold 16X Mark 4s are a nice scope.I wouldn't part with mine. The nice thing is that it has enough elevation(144 minutes) to hit 1000 yards without a tapered base.

Did it have the Mil Dot Reticle???

The AICS kit that was mentioned would be a good addition.

Aloha Skullboy:

This scope has the duplex reticle and not the mil dots. Which is okay for my use... but mil dots would have been nice!

Yes, it does look like your setup... I always wanted a Mark 4 and have been looking for quite a while, but when this one came up, I had to jump on it... it was a saweeet deal! And it looked brand new...

I know if I get an AI stock, it would look very close to what your setup looked like... now you know why I gave you all those compliments... that is what I wanted to have!!!

I got a couple of directions here that I want to also pursue... should I have this action totally reworked? Should I get another action and set that one up to be the ultimate bolt gun in my collection, Should I...???

Decisions, decisions... it's really getting hard to decide which way to go...

But I think I am doing okay with this setup now...

Aloha,

Tom O.
