Yes too both, sights will change in that they will be closer(reduced sight radious)if you noticed the sights are graduated in meters and not yards(all M-14`s)unlike the M1. With the shorter barrel lenth you will lose some bullet speed not much the gas system is in the same place on both barrels so there just as reliable you will notice a larger blast from the shorter barrel cause the bullet is cleared sooner with Springfields muzle comp thing is of no use IMHO unless you want to beat the dog snot out of the people around you P.s. there fun to shoot bump alittle more and work IMHO as well as the longer barrel out to 300m after that the reduced bullet speed showes its ugly head and rounds drop off hope this helps
