Is it ok to run German 308 / 7.62x51 FMJ Military Surplus ammo through a Springfield Loaded M1A was not sure if the steel jackets would be a problem. If not what would be a good bulk ammo to start buying? I try to keep 3,000 – 6,000 rounds on hand for all calibers and this is my first 308 battle rifle.

Yes DAG ammo is fine, it is Cupronickel and is softer than your barrel.

DAG actually shoots fairly well for surplus in my LRB M25..... better than Winchester Nato for me, YMMV.
