Hello,
On my bucket list... But, the Winchester M41 and the two Ruger MkII targets work for now.
Oh, nice pistol by the way.
Our club had a fun pistol shoot after our CMP rifle matches. 25yds with a .22 and a .45ACP. I held my own against the other Ruger MarkII pistols! If I could shoot like Iron Worker I might have won more matches! :ROFLMAO:

Iron Worker,

I have that same slab-sided, same barrel length buckmark but mine still sports the original black grips. I bought mine used many years ago and have been super impressed with it's ability to digest any ammo I feed it. Also, like yours, mine is very accurrate. I use it to introduce new shooters to handguns. Love seeing their big smiles after they get the fundamentals down.

Love me some Buckmark! I have a Camper Pro Target I got in 99' and put Cocobolo grips on and my Dad left me the slab side. Slabside is an early 90's model and I put Rosewood grips on it with a Browning red dot. Can have A LOT of cheep shooting fun with one of these!

Where did you find those wood grips?
I got my grips from Midwest Gun Works.

Glad you guys are having great luck with them. Bought one for step sons birthday present and it required 3 trips back to Browning before it would fire more than a couple times with something not working......

Have you done the "Heggis Flip" yet? If not, you definitely need to and will be glad you did. If it doesn't work out for you, you can always undo it.

Tony.
Thanks Tony! Another yardbird who never heard of it! My pistol has a trigger pull or 3.2 lbs so I think I will leave my spring as is! :giggle:

I have a first gen with slabbed sided barrel and black grips, I bought it new when they first came out, I seem to recall it costing around $200. I have shot many a brick out of it and it very rarely jams, only when I have not cleaned it after a couple of thousand rounds, usually I run a GI tooth brush across the bolt face and feed ramp and it keeps going like the Energizer bunny.

I have one on my short list to buy. I'm geeked on the Contour model as it comes with a pic rail and I will be adding a reflex type red dot to it.
I've got that model Buckmark. Have had it for 20+yrs now.

Put a Trijicon OEG sight on it for my wife.
(She can shoot red dots, but not iron sights. )
The OEG still works, but after 20yrs not as bright indoors.

Love the gun.
