Don't know if this belongs here or the gun rights forum, mods move it to wherever this should be. I'm listening to breaking news on t.v. about a police shooting in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Apparently a women who was driving, her boyfriend in the passenger seat, and her little daughter was in the back were pulled over for a traffic violation. I didn't quite catch all the details, but the boyfriend was shot several times by the cops. I believe that the report also said he was licensed for conceal carry and notified the cops that he was armed, and was trying to follow their orders to show his license. The girlfriend immediately got on facebook and started posting what happened live. The boyfriend was hit several times in what looked like the right arm/shoulder area. The guy bled out in the car and the girlfriend was arrested. I'm waiting to here anymore follow-ups. -Lloyd BEERCHUG1

From what I just read the police are trying to determine if the video is authentic. It seems like in each one of these incidents you have to wade through the lies and bad info to get to the truth. Look at the Brown case in Ferguson or the Freddie Gray case in Baltimore for example.

In general, I think police should be held to the same standard as citizens. Just because someone doesn't immediately follow your legal command doesn't give you the right to shoot him. If some bum is trespassing on my front lawn and I tell him to get off. He says fymf. I don't have the right to let go 14 or 16 shots nor do I have the right to taze him.

Her boyfriend gets shot and the first thing she does seconds after it happens is to start streaming live on facebook. CENSOREDGI if wrong with people today.
What else should she have done? The shooting appears to have been instantly fatal, so there was not much aid she could have rendered. Getting on social media certainly brought attention and scrutiny to this, rather than letting it disappear into the background. Seems like a good decision to me.

The victim was behind the wheel and was pulled over for a broken tail light. He had a C&C permit and was carrying. So far here in MN that's all we know other than the video and claims on the local media news. No police reports while it's under investigation other than he was shot in the arm and later died in the hospital.

Of course no one who wasn't there knows the entire truth of what happened but let's look at the way the public may perceive this.

Some in the public already believe that cops are out to murder black men and now that a licensed CCW holder was murdered, that could be twisted to make it seem that even if you have legal permission to carry a firearm, "society" will not allow a black man to walk around armed.

People these days document everything. No different than the pictures or video of "check out what I had for lunch today" except this one had a blood stain. I went to a performance two weeks ago at an amphitheater and pretty much everyone within the first ten rows had phones out shooting video instead of actually enjoying the concert.

Is there any reason why the image in the video is reversed? Or is this an incident with a right hand drive car and a left handed officer? Or has my brain begun to quit?
Kinda odd cause this guys welfare was not my first though...my first thought was hey....I wonder what kind of right hand drive car this guy has in the US.

Listening to the radio on the way home today and caught part of Obummer's "news" conference about this most recent police shooting of a citizen.

Radio host pointed out that there have been 35 police shootings of unarmed citizens so far this year.

Of those 35, 13 were black.

The other 22 were either, Hispanic, Asian, or Caucasian, yet Obummer never called for a "news" conference
after those shootings.

Was' up whit dat?
