SD 1971...got out of boot camp Christmas Eve. Went to Great Lakes for A school. Winter of 71-72 was cold as others have said...and I stayed in the old buildings refered to.
One school night we had a very drunk young man come in and state he was going to shoot some of us (*****sailors). SP got the situation under control and stripped him down to his underclothes and had him handcuffed in the back of an open pickup while they investigated the incident. Even though he had just threated us and said mean and nasty things about our Mothers, I felt sorry for him. Damned it was cold out...and I grew up in Montana.
