I just picked up a Springfield national match in a McMillan synthetic stock no lug. But the barrel is a heavy barrel marked SM308 . Set #196xxx who would have been the carbon steel Barrel maker

Why don't you just pull the op rod back, lock it into place, look on the side of the barrel and post a picture of what it says?

Barrel should be a Douglas.

Springfield Armory is in Genesco, Illinois. I Have a 2009 SA Loaded with a Douglas NM SS barrel. It also has Genesco, IL on the side off the barrel.
