Hello all,

Im wondering what solvents out there people use to remove the copper fouling out of a SS barrel, I know the choices are limited but there has to be something out there that one can use that wont harm the bbl.

Phil,

Hoppes Benchrest has worked very well for me. I've used it with great success to get all the copper buildup out of chrome moly NM barrels, I reckon it'd work just as well on a SS barrel?

Everything I have read stated that you have to stay away from "amonia"(sp) bassed products becaese it will destroy the Stainless Steel barrels 8O and Im not interested in that. Thanks for the heads up I do use hoppes on my pistols and it works like a champ

Oops, I did not know that. Sorry, my bad.
Try the Outters Foul Out. It takes all the work out of barrel clean up.
