I got out the range on Thursday and started off at the 500 yd range as nobody was on there so I had the line to myself. I was on paper from the first group thanks to my older data. Then I attempted to make an adjustment of 1 min up and 3 min left and wound up with group #2, which, to me, must be the best I've done and been able to record the evidence. I just did the (3) 5 round groups before moving to the 300 yd line with the busy crowd of other shooters.
I was shooting my 'match' AR with the re-purposed 1:9 twist Wylde barrel I took of my LAR15A2 a while back. The upper is a White Oak carry handle upper with the pinned A2 rear sight. I need to check the windage threads because my adjustment appears to have taken me almost 6 min left instead of just 3. I came back half the distance and got some shots in the center in group 3, however I was getting fatigued and not holdong my sight alignment as good anymore. The upper is supposed to have the 1/4min/click adjustments. I thought it was for elevation and windage. I need to compare to my regular LAR15A2 rear sight.
I was shooting 70g Berger VLDs with 23.7g of IMR4895 which go about 2,800 FPS. Prone with a web loop sling. F class target with the 3' diameter aiming black.
