I'm looking to buy 2, possibly 3 AR-15 lowers and I was wondering if any of you know about BCI Defense?
I've bought Rock River, LRB, etc. and have been very happy with them. Just looking for something different. I did a Google search and didn't find much info out there.
Thanks,
Old Sarge

Almost all lowers are made by the same manufacturer...according to this guy. I have no idea if this is true....or not true.

I have a few of the early BCI receivers, I think I purchased them in 2011-12. They are by far the best fit and finish lowers I have ever seen. A friend of mine is dealer who bought about 500 recievers from them. The problem is fit and finish costs money and at that time BCI receivers were about $50 more than most others.

The one problem I see is that they only sell them to authorized dealers, so I don't know if my local FFL dealer can just order from them without being one of their factory authorized dealers. I think the nearest dealer to me is about 70 miles away. I guess I could have them order them and ship them to my local guy.... but all the extra expense with double shipping, etc.

I picked up two BCI Defense stripped lowers about a year and a half ago.
The ones I have are well made and fit my uppers quite well.
Here's my 6.8 SPC with the BCI Defense lower.

To be honest, while I think the BCI Defense is one of the best stripped lowers I have. I like the Aero Precision Gen 2 lowers better because of price and features.

For those who have not seen the BCI Defense hallmark. Kind of looks like a picture I saw in biology or sex ed.

Good luck on your decision.

OK, so there are 3-5 main manufacturer's. Is there any mark they make on them so that you can tell who the manufacturer is aside from the seller?

There are more than 3-5, they have little forge marks on them to indicate where it was. One looks like a keyhole, another looks like a triangle, one is an M, another is a square etc.

Basically "big" places make the forgings and then small companies with CNC/mills finish them off.

Another new maker to me is "Black Forge" and they're on sale, complete lower with retractable butt stock for $139.
