Bassett scope mount question

What factors should I consider in choosing between the standard Bassett scope mount and the Picatinny mount?

IMO , QD rings and a Bassett mount is kinda like a belt and suspenders.
Kind of redundant....

One of the chief selling points of the Bassett is easy on easy off with one single bolt and the ability of staying sighted in upon reattachment.
