I had read online that Hirtenburger was good surplus ammo awhile back so when I spotted some 200 round cans at the last gun show I bought one. It is marked "austrian" and the dealer said it was Hirtenburger. I see some of you are saying this ammo is "hot". Am I going to do any damage to my M1A if I put a couple hundred rounds of this through it? I am hoping this is good ammo because it was well priced at about 50 cents a round.

It's going to be fine in your rifle, all of the NATO countries load to the same set of spec's for M80 ball ammunition.
