I have a loose dovetail front sight on my mossy 500

What’s the best way to secure it well, but I want to be able to remove it and switch it out in the future.

Would blue loctite work on a dovetail or what will work properly?

Remove the sight from the base. Use a small punch to peen the underside of the sight dovetail, or the inside of the dovetail in the base (or both). This will give you a friction fit when reinstalling the sight into the base.

Peen it, got it.
It’s fairly loose. I can easily wiggle it out. Almost lost it today so I want to ensure it stays put.

Peening and a drop of Loctite should do it. Same principle as securing an oprod guide to an M14 barrel.

Or I can just tighten the really small set screw I didn’t see because my eyesight is crap. Stupid me.

Be sure and take the screw out to clean the threads and then drop it and spend the next 2hrs looking for it, never finding it of course.
