Speaking of which, now that summer is upon us and sunset is later in the evening, I'm planning to start hosting an after-work 400 yard club shoot there on first-Tuesday evenings from 5pm 'till sunset, starting this Tuesday the 6th. Just in case ya'all are interested.
Is that the Wong's farm? WAY WAY too hot to be going out, that's why I prefer the morning time.

Is the range accessible by car or do you need a truck. I haven't been out there in about 10 years.

Hi,
I'm also in Tucson.
Love to get together for some shooting.
Anyone go to 3-Points near Tucson?
DAP (David)
I have not been to 3 points. But now that I know about the Marana one I may have to hit them up.

Heading back out to Mammoth this Friday to test out some subsonic (hopefully) loads and trouble shoot my 2 AR's that won't fire the 2nd round.

Wong's farm it is. Yeah, this'll be a hot one, but like I said in the email reminder I sent out to the club membership this morning, it never hurts to verify and know your zero in all weather extremes, 'cause if-n-when it should ever count, we likely won't get to pick a nice day. I'll at least set a pop-up to shade the line in addition to the tree we'll be under.

The dirt road in is a might washboardy in spots but not too bad if you keep it slow - passenger cars don't have a problem unless it's been raining for the last 2 days.

TRC at Three Points is a really nice facility, just not as handy to me as Marana - I wouldn't mind a Tucson meet-up there either.

BTW, still doing a monthly 400yd shoot at Marana Shooting Club - every 4th Sunday afternoon, must be a member or guest of a member; let me know if you need a member to be a guest of. :ARM34:

The monthly 400yd at MSC is open shooting - bunch of like-minded folks in the club getting together to pop steel, paper, and plastic jugs full of water at a range more befitting a rifle than the usual 100yd comfort zone.

Another long drive for me, but I've been wanting to check out the Yuma range for a while. I've heard it's a walk-on-and-shoot unsupervised range like the one in Casa Grande. If that's true, is it possible at all to reserve a bay for a match or a class, or is it always first come first served?

unless the local club has a match going on its first come first serve IF you feel like being nice. they think they own the range but they don't. they try to kick people off for their matches...

AZMule - Are you associated with Project Appleseed? If so, I believe I met you at an event in Kingman a couple years back.

It looks like there is a known distance Appleseed event scheduled at Marana March 10 & 11. They are fun events and might be a good excuse for members to make the drive to Tucson for two days of shooting. I would be willing to make the drive from Flagstaff.

Yup, that's me (I gotta check in here more often, shoulda seen this a week ago) - the March Marana event is currently a fundamentals class and NOT a known distance event, but yeah, we gotta schedule another KD in Marana this year. Let me talk to our Marana Shoot Boss about that.
