AR-15 Lapping Tool Suggestion (More than one is an option)

This is what I use BROWNELLS LAPPING COMPOUNDS | Brownells for Aluminum Receivers . These type Tools are good for alignment of the Face of the Upper Receivers , I have done them by hand for so long I cant remember when I started .

I still use Grease on the Threads , couple years ago , I replaced an A2 Upper on a Build I did in the late 70's with a flat top for testing & the Barrel Nut came right off , so it does work. The A2 is back on now , with Retaining compound .

I believe most of the Receiver face imperfections are from finish applied to the Receiver , some manufacturers may be more than that , but it seems to me to not take a lot of work to have a flush fitment with the Barrels Extensions Flange . Always give that Flange a look over also , just because .
