After changing out BCG, and ditching the AERO Trigger (piece of the well known stuff, don't buy! after 10 rounds, didn't reset all of the time), my M5 is now complete with a CMC 2.5lb Trigger!
Painted it today. Happy with the understatement...

AERO Trigger. Terrible. They do some great stuff, but triggers aren't one of them.

Krylon with a Matt Sealer on top. I am trying out various forms of paint.

Also playing with Createx Colors and a few other acrylics. I have several airbrush set ups, for fine detailing, down to 1/64th of an inch.

Congratulations. I used an ELF trigger when I put mine together. Pretty much an AERO build with a couple of enhancements. Loving it as a replacement for an old Armalite I gave to my son. Whatta Hobby!

I had an AR10 before I had an M1a. I bought an entire assembled rifle, then I bought an upper thinking I could just swap the lower back and forth. I did that some, but soon after got a second lower to make a dedicated rifle. They are both accurate shooters, but definite safe queens. I could not tell you any of the particulars. That is how interesting they are to me. The second lower I built a stripped receiver following an online video. Took about 30 minutes. It took me months to figure out how to build M1a's. Now that's a rifle! Every one should try it at least once.

Oh no, I am devoted to the M1A.
Looking to either pick up a Scout, or to try my hand at picking up parts and assembling one. I've a barrel and a stock in the closet.

Your build looks GREAT!
I really liked the design Aero Precision’s M5 “enhanced” upper and handguard… until I built one. Turns out it weighs nearly 1/2 pound more than their M5 upper with one of AP’s S-One handguards.

Looks like a 16” barrel? What length gas tube?

With the fixed stock, I’m assuming you used a rifle length barrel extension. What buffer and spring? Like your trigger, I think AP makes some great stuff but their buffer springs don't qualify. I have 2 nearly new AP rifle length buffer springs that are 3/4” different in length and the shorter one definitely wasn’t doing its job. Ended up replacing both with Armalite springs.

Sadly bringing up some of Aero's issues can be quarrelsome but I have seen issues with some of their stuff myself. Good luck at the range Monday!

Pasche. I have used these 4 brushes for 35 years, and they are still rocking it.

Was that Aero trigger and hammer the stainless one that the hammer is bobbed like a 9mm hammer? If its the same one I had its a piece of junk, you should never use Stainless on Stainless, it will gaul, the set I had had a 10lb trigger pull and got worse just testing it.

change the JP tac comp for a Terminator T3 brake and had the bbl cerakoted

AR-10 Range Report:
Went to the range with my friend Terry. I fired a couple of rounds then handed him the AR-10. He was used to shooting the M1A, said it was enjoyable. We shot some 5.56 from the Springfield Saint for trigger comparisons... The difference was amazing. I came back to the AR-10... The two outer shots were a 71 year old guy trying to replicate his sitting on the ground shooting stance from his twenties. I got back up, sat at the bench with a bag and dumped the remaining rounds. 50 yards, rapid fire, with holosun green dot and 3x vortex magnifier. I am very happy with the set up. Will eventually get a 1-10 scope, but satisfied with this situation at this point.
