If you have a good load/round for 300AAC using true M80 bullets, I’d really be appreciative if you could share. I picked up some NOS M80 147 grain bullets and would like to work a load.

I picked up the M80 bullets so I can reload M80 and 300 AAC from the same bullet stock.

Also, if you have a favorite 300AAC load with promising accuracy, I’ll take it too.

Thanks for sharing!

I have a fair amount of American Marksman Bullets1st 7.62 NATO M80, but have not tried this Stryker 300 BLK load yet. Considering what it is, it'd be great if it truly is non-magnetic- but I wouldn't place a bet on it actually being non-magnetic (Lake City M80 sourced components).

Description: Stryker 300 AAC Blackout ammunition consists of Lake City brass, boxer-primers and projectiles. This line of ammunition is 100% American made.

Specifications:

Manufacturer – Stryker

Condition – New

Bullet Weight – 147 Grain

Bullet Type – Full Metal Jacket

Use Type – Target Practice

Ammo Casing – Brass

Quantity – 200

Ammo Caliber – 300 Blackout

Primer Type – Boxer

Muzzle Velocity (FPS) – 1,730

Muzzle Energy (lbs.) – 977 ft.

Attracts Magnet – No

I use 15.5 grns.of winchester 296 with the m-80 bullets. Muzzle velocity 1850 fps.From a RA XCR-L 16".
This is perfect, I knew I couldn’t be the only one trying to use m80 bullets. I’ve got the bullets and cases, now for the search for primer and powder.

Thanks again Vic!

The MV is about 1025fps.

I loaded up 75 rounds using 147gn GI bullets in LC cases using CCI 400 primers and 13gns of AA #9.
I didn't do any Crono work, I just plinked with them and they seemed pretty accurate.

Hodgdon Lil Gun or IMR 4227, around 15 to 16 grains of either one with a COAL of about 2.140". Check out the data in the 6th edition of the Sierra Reloading Manual. They list 12 powders for their 150gr bullets including a FMJ bullet. Your loads will need a little less powder for the muzzle velocities that they show in the book.

I run 17.1 grains of lil gun with the 149gr closer to the top end.

Oh and by the way John, the data I threw in to Quickload said that 16.5gr would be a better load so I'll defer to your real world testing, I used the slightly lower powder charge for safety and figured that the OP would just experiment around those powder charges.
