Has anyone received their JAE-100 G3 stocks yet? Anyone know the status?

Not that I've heard of. This waiting game stinks.

My next statement isn't directed at JAE, but towards the "custom" firearms industry as a whole:

Why is it that everything takes a year to get? Rifle builds, stocks, receiver orders... it seems like you pay on January 1st and you're lucky to get it by the next January 1st.

I've heard continuous stories of "I paid my money... and four months later I was told it'd ship in a week... and two weeks later I called and it still hadn't been built"... etc.

It's quite frustrating to see stories like this.

Why can't shops just be honest and say "it'll be a year". It's better to be honest up front and potentially lose and order or two than to string people along. Why piss EVERYONE off rather than lose a couple potential customers?

Don't forget guys, this isn't some mega corporation that can invest millions of dollars in research and tooling at the drop of a hat. When they make a major change the have to change the entire tooling and production line because they only have one set of machines. In addition, in this litigious world if these guys make one mistake and some whinny little girl pinches her finger when using the stock, JAE could get sued out of existence. They probably have every dime of their money involved and they are playing a balancing act between updating their product now, while their stock has a good reputation for performance and while they are small, or waiting for more cash reserves but the stock becoming outdated. Then there were the California fires a year or so ago that they had to deal with, they did have damages if I remember correctly.

But what I do know is that I just built a 175gr Berger VLD load for the first time and took it out on it's maiden voyage. I fired the group below from my Loaded model in my JAE G2 stock at 200 yards from a bench.

I had fired a group before this one but with the heavy walnut stock and the group was larger. So while I'm anxious too, I would rather they take their time and ensure that they have another great product rather than just another stock. The advantages of ease of installation or removal, the resistance to environmental changes, the fact that I don't have to re-bed over time, all these things give me such an advantage that I can deal with the wait.

Very nice RAMMAC. My JAE gen 2 took my groups from 1.5 moa to subs. Who woulda thunk. Worth the wait indeed.

I completely understand this. 100%. Like I said originally, my comment wasn't really aimed at JAE.

I just want to have a REAL estimate on times when going into something.

Given that I'm on the JAE Gen 3 waiting list, I knew it would be a while. Lisa didn't want to commit to a time, even back when I ordered at the end of last year. I was figuring six months or so, but I guess I was overly optimistic.

It's worth reiterating: I'm not bagging on JAE in the slightest. Just my opinion from reading around this site and on the internet about *MANY* high-end firearm companies.

I didn't think anything negative, I was just trying to point out why I think it is taking so long and boost everyone's spirits so the wait doesn't seem as bad.
Hey, at least you'll get a stock someday! I sent an order with money to Tyler Manufacturing last December for a "Tyler T-Grip". Neat for old revolvers, except the man running the shop passed away last year. No mention on the website. It's still up and running with an order form to print. Voicemail greeting just says "We're too busy so just mail in your order." or something like that. His family is happily cashing everyone's checks while the Better Business Bureau fields complaints, and no one is getting any product. Ever. At least it's only $32 or so...

I don't think anyone is knocking JAE or their product. It's a great stock that has significant advantages that people will wait for. The reason I asked was I was feeling a bit frustrated as I had sent an email asking status over 3 weeks ago and had not received a reply. I sent a email early Monday and did get a reply this time. Lisa did reply to my previous email but for some reason I didn't get it. Mine will be in the second batch, so I probably won't get it this trip. Lisa said they are still finishing up some of the small parts to ship the first batch. That should happen soon and then thing will start catching up so I think our wait will not be so long now.

I got the WIN (Want It Now) package which is suppose to get expedited since you are getting pretty much everything and are paying all up front. So, while not in the first match, I think I will get it pretty soon. Not more than 2 months, I get the impression.

I asked for a picture of what it will look like with some resolution so I can at least get my "gun porn" fix. Lisa sent this and said that the NEW Titanium Grey is less blue and more grey.I kind of liked to old blueish grey, but this is nice too. Like this my accessories are Swat Black The only thing missing in this picture is the adjustable palm rest. So here is a good look for everyone else. So here is a picture fix for the rest of you and I do think the wait is coming to an end.

I understand that all the new tooling is done, and stocks are ready to be assembled… a lot of individual parts go into each stock, and the boss over there is totally anal about making sure the design is PERFECT before it goes into full production. It was while designing the M700 stock that he came up with the all new programing for the Gen 3 -- I ordered a M700 stock at SHOT SHOW I think THREE years ago. I have the gun ready for it -- I'll take the wait because I know when it gets here it will be right.

I alos know that once they start to come out, they will move at a good clip.

And I LOVE that new color! The old grey was too blue -- in photos it freaking GLOWED ---
In fact -- this is what it looks like on a whole gun:

WOW! That looks really nice Gun Rider. I ordered the handguard in Titanium Grey, but the Swat Black handguard has me thinking. Looks really nice.

Wish that was mine!
I think if you have the crinkle paint one like this guy has, it's not that good a match, but if you had black accessories, a smooth black hand guard would look great.
I've been thinking about it. I think I'll stick with the Titanium Grey handguard. I think it will look better with the LRB M25 with a 22" Krieger Heavy National Match stainless barrel with a new $3600 USO Black 3.2-17X SN-3 TPAL with ARD and 2" hood, EREK elevation and zero stop on the windage. The scope will be a lot of black and the grey hardguard I think will go well with the stainless barrel. The scope's got the extended eye relief in case I ever want to put it on a 50 cal. It's also got the internal level. The gun will be set up really for out beyond 700 meters.

My brother just took delivery of the scope from FexEx 10 minutes ago and I'm sitting in Thailand until next week.

The waiting is killing me. USN4
That is an AWESOME scope! I can't wait to see it mounted on your build!
Mine was ordered at the end of March, and I was told I will get it sometime in August. FWIW I also ordered the want it now package. Dark Earth with swat black accessories.

I can understand the wait. I am a cnc machinist that only works on short run quantities. The parts I'm making right now were due yesterday, and they are keeping me from working on the other parts that were due yesterday. When you overbook the schedule, or in JAE's case have a great product, deadlines have a tendency of being pushed out.

On several occasions I dropped off parts that the customer "really needed" only to find them sitting on their shipping bench a week later untouched. I wonder how many times Lisa hears people say "Hey I really need this stock so I can assemble my rifle and put it in the safe."
Not knocking on JAE, but I don't think they've ever met their own deadlines for a new product.
ordered mine in nov still havent gotten it, just try not to think about it
I guess I'm late to the party. I ordered a Gen 3 a couple of weeks ago and was told it would be 10 months, so the rest of you shoudn't feel so bad.
I know they are on the verge of getting the first Gen 3's out. Then the chain will flow pretty smoothly (I hope)
