ive been reading thru older posts about gas pistons and heres another one with hopefully a simple answer.
to shoot anything other then 147gr mil surp should i switch to another gas piston. i most of the time shoot 147gr fmj mil surp but would like to shoot something like 168gr or 175gr now and again. do i need to switch out my gas piston when doing so or can i use the usgi one i have. as i dont want to risk damaging my rifle.

As in no, you don’t have to change your piston to shoot 168’s. Just don’t get crazy, stay inside the norms.

I believe the OP misunderstood the answer given in post #2.
You do not need to change the gas piston.
LC Match will be fine.
Hunting ammo or "hot" reloads should be avoided.

Yes, I believe you are right. He’s got it now. I’d feel aweful if he pulled down good lc match.
