Sad and happy at the same time. Sad because of the passing of a modest man who was the definition of the word "hero" (a word I think is thrown around much too much these days), but also happy he lived a long life after the war and was recognized and revered for his service.

I have a feeling these guys never spent much time thinking about what heroes they were, but I hope they were amused at how much everyone else did.

When I met them they were doing a Book signing at the FL International Airshow.
You were only allowed to have one thing signed and my sister bought me the Book on the spot.
I had the first book ever given to me by my Mom, a 1944 printing of "Americas Fighting Planes"!
Well you know the Raiders thought it was the greatest thing and all signed it for me.
Now a Prized possession became priceless!

Well Said Sir.... a Man of Honor rare item now-a-days. His pain and ailments are gone and he resides with Men and Women who were Great in this Mortal life.
