I am trying to decide between the arms mount and the Larue. Why do you recommend the larue? Height of mount, ruggedness, etc? I would like a mount that allows for a good check weld to the stock when used.

I had the ARMS mount and needed a cheek piece to get a good sight picture.
I used a Strap-On from Brownells.
The LaRue light is said to sit lower and be even stronger than the ARMS mount. It is a more simple design than the ARMS with less parts.
I upgraded to an EOTech before trying the LaRue though...

Did you use the arms mount with your standard stock or the sarge? Why did you change to the eotech? Is it faster for you than the Aimpoint?
Thanks for answering so many questions. There isn't any one to ask in my area they are all AR shooters. I am tryong to get this setup right the first time arond. I dont need another full parts box :D

I used the Aimpoint/ARMS on my Scout's forward mount.

I went with the EOTech because... the mount is built in, it sits a tad lower, I wanted something different
for my new SAGE stock and it turns out to be a faster/easier sight for me to use. The AA batteries are a plus.

Ask all the questions you can think of, that's why we are all here 8)

You may want to look at the Leupold QRW Medium Quick Release rings. This sits the Aimpoint as low as possible and is quickly removed in the event the Aimpoint quits. They are also a lot cheaper than many of the other mounts. HTH

Hey Sunrise,

I would like to see a side to side comparison because that Larue looks much taller. The Arms #22M68 I use seems to be good to go and nice and low.....

Hey TM, were did you get your Aimpoint?

The LaRue Light is not the one in the picture. The Light version is said to be a lower profile mount. That's all I know.
I would also like to see them side by side. I'm also interested in the ring mount Ron in PA mentioned...

Hmmm Differences between ARMS and Larue.

Just had a discussion about this with some Class III guys a week ago. Seems like the ARMS are made to a standard which may or may not fit tight on certain rails. Which is why Larue designed a adjustable tention on their throw lever so it can be adjusted to fit more rails

Plus the Larue is made in Texas, whatelse can you ask for.
