Noticed that too, but his finger is on the trigger.
I was surprised he didn't set the rifle on the concrete wall for a more stable and lower position.
Who knows what the actual situation was.

Elbow to knee was probably pretty stable.

He should be using the bipod, OR getting lower and resting on the wall, if he is engaging longer ranges. Also, one of the standard safety rules involves the bugger hook being off until ready to fire.

I wonder what would have been the disposition that rifle. Was that locker and that HR back in the custody of the armorer, and if so, pending re-issue to a specific MOS? How many armorers then and now would have been or would be now competent in age of Milley and DoDee "Sr. Advisor to the Secretary of Defense on Human Capital, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" (aka white rayciss™ specialist) in the repair and maintenace of these rifles, let alone sparing for them. Most pictures I see of M14's deployed into the middle east didn't wear wood stocks like that HR vs the outer space looking hardware depicted above. They're only original once and as born. Also wonder how many of the last true Main Battle Rifles are left hopefully not in the hands of fools and or fbi jackboots, irs, bureau of "land management" or other 3 letter "agencies". Any of you boys know?When I left Bagram down in the SASC there was a Beautiful Walnut H&R M14 in the locker. Someone got a real prize!

Makes me sick to think of about it. Those guys are sick people but they are not stupid. I am sure there are a number of M14s now in the wrong hands.
