Checking to see if anyone has or has seen this A.R.M.S. M21/14 W.B.M.A Scope Mount? All of the ones I've seen have the rail going all the way across. Is this just another variant or possible knock off? I noticed mine doesnt have the #18 on it. Wondering if its a keeper or if Id be better off going with a Gen4 mount or possibly a Sadlak mount?
Thanks for the reply. Not 100% certain but pretty sure it's a weaver. My brother took it off his standard M1A and gave it to me about 15 years ago. I mounted it to my M1A and never put anything on it. I just noticed it was different from all the other A.R.M.S. Inc M14 mounts and got me thinking. I'm in the market for an M1A Tanker and will probably throw this on it
There are the current full picatinny rail version, and previously were split versions, and even more rare split version with stripper clip guides like yours. I wish there were more of those floating around. I've had to settle for getting the current ones cut to be split mounts.
Didn't Tim Warbird in Texas modify M-14 scopemounts by machining the "middle" part of the rail off? Anybody have one or ever seen one with his modification?
Thanks for the responses everyone. Happy to hear I have something worth hanging on to. I'm planning on selling my standard M1A to aquire an M1A Tanker and was thinking I should remove the scope mount and keep it for the Tanker
Yes , remove and hang on to it. I have one of the originals like yours. Yours is only the second original with the stripper clip guide that I have seen. I bought mine off this forum not long after I joined. A very high price at the time. $350.00.
My brother just told me he bought his M1A in '05 and aquired that mount from a gun smith/ store in San Diego (Duncans Gunworks). He thinks he paid $140. With the way things have inflated that sounds about right.
