Would it be possible to build a AR15 in .308x1 1/2" Barnes?
I was looking at the round online and it got me to wondering if it work, I was thinking you could modify a 7.62x39 bolt by opening the bolt face up a bit and I bet the AR mag will hold the rounds. The 308x1 1/2 is loaded pretty hot but since you are going to have make your own cases you could tone it down some.

Not a good idea IMO. That bolt is holding back 50K+ PSI. The 7.62x39 bolt is already compromised, not as much steel under the locking lugs, and they are subject to catastrophic failure. Removing even more steel would be a big mistake.

that's why they have enhanced 762x39 bolt faces
if you could make a case with a 223 rim like the 50 beowolf,or neck down a beowolf case, you might be ok. but you have the 458 socom, which hits harder
