Story I got this was for aerial flexible MG use, it does have a very strange robust primer crimp.

Primer crimps seems about right for US-made WWII-era ammo.

Remington began using that style primer crimp during WW1 and continued it for some time during WWII. Has nothing to do with aerial flexible MG use.

Valuable ammo...I pulled a few down and reloaded....er... a friend did... amazing what it will do to 3/8 steel plate...right through.
