Just picked up an M1A 'TANKER' - had a brief range day yesterday - was SUPER windy here in SoCal and a few of my targets blew away before I could really check my aim so another calmer range day will be needed to sight her in... regardless though, it was still fun to shoot it.
I'm wanting to chop my SA Loaded down to length, and convert to a SOCOM of sorts. I'll use the SEI lock with the dovetail.
IRT barrel chopping and threading; I'm comfortable with removing the barrel, but I need to buy the action wrench and vice. That's $$$.
Any suggestions on reputable folk I...
I could go with a receiver mount but wanted to try the front rail system too. I have a picatinny extension in, and a cantilever mount for my crossfire II 2x7 scout scope.
it feels sturdy enough, and my sight picture with my cheek riser is perfect. Want to hear other recommendations / advice
I've a lovely new M1A Socom 16" with the glass stock, tritium front sight and compensator.
The local range does not permit competition with the compensator because it is "unfair to the nearby competitors?" Total BS, but that's how it is.
I'd like to put a flash hider or just a plain end cap...

I'm still a M1A rookie, and I've been doing some research trying to find a suitable optic for my SOCOM16.
I just discovered the new Strike Eagle scope that's supposed to be coming from Vortex sometime this summer. it's a 1-6x24 starting at $429. Did anyone get a chance to see one of these at...
Picked up a relatively new (I'm guessing 2013 or 2014 based upon serial number) SOCOM 16 with 6 magazines and a decent hard case for $1300. Mechanically it looks and feels new - was told only fired 40 times. However, the previous owner decided to camo spray paint the stock and to me, it's...
I plan on mounting a Trijicon RMR on my socom using the Hopco mount (replaces rear sight/housing).
I want to completely remove my front sight too since it will be useless.
I know I can just pull the sight off via allen screw but can I get a gas lock that will allow me to install a muzzle...
I just took the plunge and bought a SOCOM 16. I did a a lot of research here before my purchase. Thank you all for your help and advice!
I plan on using this rifle as a pick up and go gun. I want to use it for an all around weapon and am outfitting it as such. I welcome all...
As a newbie, I wanted to ask for forgiveness before I make my CO or a drill Sargent mad.
This is a short list of what I have read and wanted to summarize for inexperienced folks like me concerning the accuracy of the baddest rifle ever made. USA2
