M1A Scout / Squad Scope options

I assume this is the Vortex Viper PST you're suggesting:
      http://swfa.com/Vortex-25-10x32-Viper-PST-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P60984.aspx

...looks just about perfect, the only small niggle I have with it, really,
are the tall/uncapped turrets (with the intent being more "brush gun" than
      "range gun").

The nightforce option looks a little closer to what I desire here:
      http://www.opticsplanet.com/nightforce-compact-nxs-2-5-10-x-32-tactical-riflescope.html
...but for almost 2x the price.

On a related note, any suggestions on rings? I'd like to put the scope down
as low on the gun as practical; I know in some situations, spent brass can
actually hit the scope. I've seen the following rings suggested for my mount:
      http://www.opticsplanet.com/weaver-standard-detachable.html
      (model #49120 or #49041)

Thanks again for all the input!

Yes that's it. I like the uncapped turrets as if you need to dial, nothing to hinder it. Being a bush gun, the uncapped turrets won't be a problem in this regard at all.
